Atonement Group
Aims and Objectives

Throughout his working life, Jesus encouraged the faithful to pray. In his final hours in the Garden of Gethsemane before he was betrayed, he asked the Disciples to keep watch with him and to pray that they would not succumb to temptation.

Prayer and the power of prayer is a central pillar of the Church on Earth and there can be few activities more spiritually rewarding than praying as Jesus himself asked.

Who to Contact

Margaret Lester

Where and When

Every Friday after 9.30am Mass, saying the Rosary in the church itself, before moving up to St Ann’s room at the side of the Church.

Other Information

The Atonement Group is a weekly prayer group very similar to the Rosary Group. Having recited the Rosary in the Church, the group moves to St Ann’s room where they sing hymns and then pray. However the intention of this group is straightforward, it is also selfless - The group offers it’s prayers in atonement for the ‘sins of the world’.

The group is small, numbering a handful of regulars. New members would be warmly welcomed and anyone wishing to do so should feel free to turn up or contact Margaret.
