Why
was the Banstead Five Churches set up?
To bring
together fellow Christians within the Banstead
Community through participation in events and
inter-denominational services which celebrate our
shared Christian values.

Where and When:
An ecumenical covenant was signed in May 1991 between these local churches
- St Ann’s Catholic Church, Banstead
- All Saints Church of England, Banstead
- Banstead United Reformed Church
- St Paul’s Church of England, Nork
- Banstead Methodist Church
Known as the ‘Banstead 5’ or ‘B5’, an executive committee of representatives from each of the churches, together with the clergy, coordinate a series of events and combined services throughout the year.

Lenten discussion groups.
- Procession of Witness in the High Street on Good Friday.
- Volunteers serve teas to prisoners families at Highdown Prison.
- Holiday Fun Week for children in summer.
- Joint amateur dramatic productions – pantomimes.
- Fellowship weekends, prayer week for Christian Unity.
- Combined Advent services and carol singing in the Christmas season.
- Coffee shop in Banstead High Street. Bottle stall on Village Day.
- Part time youth worker is employed to coordinate events during the year
