Small Groups
Aims and Objectives

Our Diocese of Arundel and Brighton encourages participation in Small Group discussion/faith sharing and each year provides material to facilitate this. Ecumenical material is also separately provided for discussion under the auspices of the Banstead Five Churches. The idea is to obtain a greater knowledge of our faith, ourselves and each other.

Where and When

The diocesan material is usually provided during October/November being based on a chosen theme and related to the liturgy of the Sundays of Advent. An individual would attend just one meeting for each of the four weeks. The ecumenical groups take place during Lent; again comprising a meeting for each of the five weeks. Most meetings are held in peoples’ houses to suit the convenience of the host and as far as possible of the other group members.

Other Information

The mechanism by which the above are achieved is that the course content for each of the two annual events is publicised some time in advance. On an appropriate date parishioners are invited to sign up, saying  what day would best suit them and whether morning, afternoon or evening. Each will then be assigned to a group. The greater the number of applicants the better is the chance that individual requirements can be met.
